It has been a little while since my last post as I was taking some time to decide on suitable content for an appropriate post. I then decided to write about continuing to brand yourself by way of utilising a feature that many Traffic Exchanges now incorporate, and that is THE PROFILE PAGE.
The availability of these is not always known by the new person to the TE as, of course, it takes some time to assimilate all the information and features available on each TE.
However, I do suggest that you at least start your profile page as soon as you are able to, as so many of the TE’s now incorporate a link from your name in chat to your profile page.
I for one, when spotting a new name whether it be their actual name or a username, always click to see their profile in order to learn something about them.
For example, perhaps, where they live, what interests them, hobbies, achievements etc that list can go on and on, but also add in what they are promoting. Far too often I click a link to a profile page and it is totally blank. Not even a way of contacting them ie, Twitter, Face Book, Linked In etc.
In other words, the person that does neglect this, is losing a very important and effective way of gaining sales or sign ups.
Now before I go waffling on further about profile pages and their importance, I wish to now refer you to my very good on line friend Marthe Dumas.
This has been beautifully written and is full of very helpful information as well as being well illustrated and I can but highly recommend it. The book is available completely free and even the seasoned TE user can learn a thing or two.
It also describes the different types of profile page and how you can use them to your best advantage, Marthe’s book is far better at explaining everything than my mere ramblings in a blog post.
So go ahead use this link to access the book “The Profile Page in Traffic Exchanges”.
Barry Langdon owner of Social Surf 4 U and now of Hittza also incorporates a profile link as a feature of SS4U so you can utilise this link in order to not only promote the TE, but you and what you promote. Here is a link to my personal profile page at SS4U.
I think you will agree that the Profile Page not only can be but is, a very powerful way of getting your message across and Branding YOU.
Please enjoy the book, I know I did.
